Parent and Swimmer Responsibilities
To ensure a safe, respectful, and productive environment for all swimmers, families, coaches, and volunteers, all parents, guardians, responsible adults, and swimmers are expected to follow the responsibilities outlined below.
Coaches are actively working during practice times. Parents should not engage coaches in discussions regarding swimmer performance during practice. These conversations should take place before or after practice, or at another time that is mutually convenient for both the parent and coach.
For swimmer safety and to allow coaches to run practice effectively, parents are not permitted on the pool deck during practice unless specifically directed by a coach or facility staff member. Parents should remain in the designated viewing or waiting area.
Smoking is not permitted at the pool during any team practice, meet, or team function.
Parents, guardians, and responsible adults are expected to conduct themselves appropriately at all times. Aggression, harassment, intimidation, or violence of any kind will not be tolerated. Any parent or guardian found to be in violation of this policy may be subject to removal from the event, suspension from team activities, and/or prosecution where applicable.
Cursing, abusive language, or inappropriate behavior toward coaches, swimmers, officials, volunteers, parents, spectators, or members of an opposing team is not permitted. Violations may result in removal from the function and/or suspension from the team.
Swimmers must wear the appropriate LWST uniform for all swim meets. This includes a red and/or black swimsuit. If a swim cap is worn, it must be an LWST team cap.
Children 12 years old and under may not be left unsupervised at any team practice, meet, or function. If a parent or legal guardian will not be present, they must ensure another responsible adult is present to supervise the child’s behavior and ensure their safety.
